Principal Investigator Sergio D. Iñiguez, Ph.D. Professor & Associate Chair
Dr. Iñiguez is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology at California State University San Bernardino before completing the doctoral program in Neuroscience at Florida State University. In his preclinical research laboratory, Dr. Iñiguez incorporates a variety of pharmacological, molecular, and behavioral methods to study the neurobiology of mood-related illnesses. Specifically, how early-life exposure to psychotropic drugs and/or stress influence responses to affect, addiction, and memory related behavior later in life.
