RESEARCH INTERESTS
Our research program evaluates the developmental neurobiology of affect-related illnesses, using simple non-human murine models. We do this understanding that no rodent species shows the complex behavioral syndromes seen in humans suffering from depression and/or anxiety-related disorders. As such, the laboratory adopts a multidisciplinary approach (behavioral, molecular, and pharmacological) to examine how exposure to stress and/or psychotropic agents (i.e., fluoxetine, ketamine) influence responses to drugs of abuse, as well as memory-related performance, in a developmental and sex-specific manner.
