Principal Investigator Sergio D. Iñiguez, Ph.D. Professor
In his preclinical research laboratory, Professor Iñiguez incorporates a variety of pharmacological, molecular, and behavioral methods to study the neurobiology of stress-induced illnesses. Specifically, how juvenile exposure to psychotropic drugs and/or stress influence responses to affect, addiction, and memory related behavior later in life. This approach is taken to investigate how early-life insults influence vulnerability of developing affect-related disorders in adulthood.
